Applications Engineer - Motor Control/Power Mgmt.

Fast-growing Programmable Power Management division focusing on Motor Control and Analog Power is looking for a highly motivated, hands-on, and experienced Applications Engineer to work in a small team to help develop market opportunities into reality for our portfolio of motor control mixed signal products.



  • Work extensively with customers providing them with application support in the areas of power conversion, motor control, and battery management by fulfilling the following roles:
    • Assist in getting started with our tools, hardware, and firmware
    • Debug hardware and firmware issues
    • Assist in customizing our reference motor control firmware or reference PCB designs for customer needs
    • Assist in motor tuning and optimization
    • Provide necessary training on using our firmware, hardware, and tools
  • Generate collateral such as application notes and training material
  • Provide feedback to the applications and systems team on features valuable to customers
  • Participate in firmware development efforts and hardware design
  • Support US, Europe, South Asia regions



  • MSEE degree in electrical, mechanical, computer engineering and at least 5 to 10 years related work experience
  • Experience with DC/DC power conversion using switching regulators for isolated and non-isolated topologies
  • Control systems knowledge for power conversion, motor control, battery management.
  • Experience in applications with DC motors in consumer and industrial appliances (fans, compressors, appliance motors)
  • Experience with embedded systems and programming using C language
  • PCB Design and layout (Altium), Mathematical and circuit simulation (Matlab, Simulink, SPICE)
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Visual Studio
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate complex technical concepts to different audiences with varying level of technical understanding
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally to support customers
  • Automotive experience a plus
