Qorvo’s Module Design Internships are offered in our High Performance Analog, Advanced Cellular, and Connectivity and Sensors business groups. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include:

• Contribute to design of multiple functional blocks including Power amplifier, LNA, switch or acoustic filters
• Meet performance requirements while also considering size, cost, footprint, and schedule
• Produce designs with increasing complexity from customer demands for LTE, carrier aggregation, multiple antennas, filters, and power management
• Adapt to new customer requirements for ruggedness, ESD, and quality
• Work as a member of a team to contribute design schematics, simulations, and real lab data
• Work with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare simulated data to real lab data
• Take customer specifications/block diagrams and floorplan/optimize module solution that meets size, performance, packaging, and footprint requirements
• Work as a member of a cross-function team to integrate functional blocks (Power Amplifiers, LNA, acoustic filters, SOI switches) into module environment
• Build complex HFSS models of modules (substrate, PA die, filter die, SOI die, SMDs) to capture coupling paths and module shielding effects
• Run FMS (full module simulations) across all functional states to identify compliance issues and provide solutions to improve margin to specifications
• Support model vs. measured studies of module blocks (SOI die, PA, filters)

Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering
• Student must have completed some analog/RF circuit design course work
• Exposure to RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers preferred
• Software Exposure: ADS, HFSS critical, (FEM, Momentum, AWR, Cadence, Dynamic Link) Preferred
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Strong collaboration skills
• Self-Starter with good communication skills
• Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information
• Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products
• Be able to enjoy working in fast paced work environment

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $31.00/hr - $42.00/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location). Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability. Base compensation is one element of Total Rewards offered at Qorvo. More information on the Total Rewards package can be shared upon request.
