The Facilities Manager ensures the Apopka site operates safely, reliably, and cost-effectively, supporting Qorvo’s mission to keep employees safe, secure, and productive. This role manages building infrastructure, utilities, and site services, oversees contractors, drives compliance, and leads projects that enhance operational efficiency and sustainability. The Facilities Manager also provides leadership to a team of technicians, manages security operations, and oversees financials for the site, including chargebacks to tenants. In addition, the role offers opportunities to participate in multi-site initiatives, sharing best practices and supporting strategic projects across Qorvo’s global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Operations: Maintain HVAC/chiller systems, cooling towers, electrical distribution, compressed air, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute PM/PdM programs via CMMS; ensure asset reliability and documentation accuracy.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, Florida Building and Fire Codes, and environmental regulations (FDEP).
- Vendor Management: Select, negotiate, and manage service providers for HVAC, electrical, janitorial, landscaping, pest control, water treatment, and security services.
- Security Oversight: Manage physical security systems (access control, cameras, alarms) and coordinate with corporate security for policy compliance and incident response.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage site Opex and Capex budgets.
- Track and report expenditures; identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Handle chargebacks to tenants for shared services and utilities.
- Project Management:
- Lead site-specific capital projects (retrofits, expansions, reliability upgrades) from scope through commissioning.
- Collaborate with Corporate Site Services teams on multi-site initiatives such as energy reduction programs, sustainability projects, and infrastructure standardization.
- Support cross-site project teams for major rollouts (e.g., CMMS enhancements, security upgrades, leased site changes, and global reliability strategies).
- Safety & EHS Partnership: Support site safety programs, hurricane preparedness, and emergency response plans.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement energy and water conservation projects; optimize building systems for efficiency.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in facilities operations and maintenance, preferably in manufacturing or semiconductor environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/chiller systems, electrical distribution, and building codes.
- Proficiency with CMMS, project management, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience with energy management, water treatment, and reliability engineering.
- Familiarity with Florida-specific compliance and hurricane readiness.
- Experience managing multi-site projects or working in a global organization.
Physical & Work Conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces.
- On-call rotation for emergencies; occasional weekend/evening work for shutdowns or storm prep.
