BAW R&D Advanced Design Manager

As a BAW R&D Advanced Design Manager, you will lead a team of R&D engineers to develop innovative filter solutions for a variety of RF applications, advance and support BAW technology development. You will be on the cutting edge of innovation and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment. You will interface with other teams within and outside BAW R&D organization including modeling, process integrations, PDK, and design engineering teams.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead technical problem-solving team to drive advancement in filter design and BAW technology. Responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, module designs, layout, and characterization.
  • Support BAW technology development and work closely with process integration, modeling, EDA teams.
  • Support new product development and work closely with design engineering team during transition of design and technology release.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with RF focus
  • 5+ years of industry experience in designing and leading development team to develop RF modules from concept to manufacturing
  • Required skills and experience:
    • Industrial experience in BAW/SAW filter design and RF module design
    • Strong background in RF/microwave concepts and EM simulations
    • Experience with EDA tools (AWR, ADS, HFSS, CST or equivalent)
    • Experience in RF modules design and integration of RF components (Filters, Power Amplifiers (PA), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA), and switches)
    • Understanding of microwave measurements and calibration methods: S-parameters, power, efficiency, source/load pull, noise figure, linearity and intermodulation distortion
    • Knowledge of RF test equipment including Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), probing station, signal generator, and spectrum analyzer
    • Understanding of microelectronic fabrication and high volume manufacturing
    • Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills
    • Knowledge of modern telecommunication standards is desirable
    • MATLAB knowledge and other scripting tools such as Python and Visual Basic is desirable
