We are recruiting for a Product Quality Engineer (PQE); it is a strategic leader in Qorvo’s Infrastructure and Defense Products (IDP) with annual revenue of approximately $1 billon. The incumbent will ensure the timely release and high quality of packaged products/technologies to meet customer requirements for infrastructure and defense products This position will be based in Richardson, TX.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                                    

  • Define qualification plans and requirements for new products; evaluate qualifications plans for qualification-by-similarity opportunities to other products                                                                          
  • Execute qualification plans from start to finish; this includes taking the lead for all logistics involved in the qualification process                                                                                                               
  • Actively participate in new product development activities; includes providing feedback to Design Engineers and Program Managers to identify and resolve reliability risks                                 
  • Define and execute qualification plans for new packaging technology platforms, assembly processes, bill of material changes, and supplier qualifications as required                                              
  • Develop experimental designs for the evaluation of new technologies and analyze data to perform comparisons between them                                                                                                               
  • Define bias conditions for qual tests; define test conditions for pre/post qual electrical testing              
  • Assist with the design and acquisition of hardware required for performing qualification tests such as HTOL and biased-HAST.                                                                                                                                    
  • Document qualification results; Develop and write final qualification reports                                     
  • Work closely with design engineering, supplier quality engineering and failure analysis groups to understand reliability failures/issues and develop mitigation plans                                                           
  • Required to perform multiple tasks for multiple projects with aggressive schedules                             
  • Drive improvement in reliability and quality of products and technologies                                                                                                                                                                                                                

 

QUALIFICATIONS:           

  • Must be a US Person                                                                                                                                             
  • Minimum BS degree in Engineering (or higher) such as BSME or BSEE; MS a plus                               
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the semiconductor field required                                      
  • Basic understanding of microelectronics qualification techniques required                                          
  • Understanding of JEDEC and/or Mil-Spec standards required                                                                    
  • Knowledge of thermo-mechanical induced Chip-Package Interactions (CPI) and other potential pkg failure modes is highly desirable                                                                                                             
  • Knowledge of experimental design and associated data analysis is highly desired                              
  • Knowledge of reliability analysis techniques is a plus                                                                                  
  • Solid organizational skills required                                                                                                                   
  • A firm knowledge of high frequency semiconductor fabrication, testing and failure modes is required.          
  • Knowledge of semiconductor wafer processing, microelectronics packaging, and final electrical test techniques required                                                                                                                          
  • Basic understanding of radio frequency (RF) physics is a plus                                                                    
  • Training in Six sigma greenbelt, or Black Belt certification is highly desired                                           
  • Experience with Spotfire software, JMP or other statistical software analysis tools required              
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques and data analysis methodologies required
