NOTE: Because this is a student internship, candidate must be a currently enrolled student in a degree-seeking accredited program.

 

This is a full-time Intern position located in Greensboro, NC. The position will be temporary in nature and last approximately 3-months.

 

Desired Degree: MS/PhD Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:

Enabling new mobile device capabilities with new frequency bands and antennas require new acoustic technologies and filters with performance improvements in many areas such as power survivability, bandwidth, low-loss, and linearity and are challenging engineers especially in the areas of power handling and device linearity. The Intern will be tying together power and linearity measurements with CAD and FEM simulations of filters will drive the develop of the new filter technologies and designs over the next few years. The intern’s goals with this project are work with other acoustic R&D engineers and use available processed wafers, measurement systems, resonator models, and simulation software to analyze, understand, predict measured data, and then integrate rf data and simulations to improve technologies and filter designs with better power and linearity capabilities over power, frequency, and temperature.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • MS or PhD candidates in EE, ME, Physics, or CS – BS acceptable
  • Experience with software (programming software like C#, MATLAB, Python, other)
  • Analysis skills (data MATLAB, Mathematica, JMP, other)
  • Simulation software (AWR, ADS, ANASYS, HFSS, other)
  • Hardware, test, measurement experience beneficial.
  • Group-oriented projects and work-environment demonstrated."

Responsibilities:

  • Train to become an expert with s-parameter and large-signal measurements
  •  Data analysis using software like C#, MATLAB, and JMP
  •  Simulations and evaluations of thermal and power acoustic responses in AWR, ADS, and ANSYS.
  • Direct, professional interactions with Test Engineers, R&D Acoustics Engineer, & Design Engineers
  • Provide accurate and timely results presentation with clear & concise summaries.
  • Well organized documentation using MS Office tools.
