SUMMARY:
We are looking for a motivated Senior Filter Design Engineer witha solid background in RF design, excellent communication skills,and strong drive to produce best in class products. The candidate
will be responsible for designing Acoustic Filters for Wi-Fi andAutomotive applications. Applicant will work closely with a coredesign engineering team and other cross functional teammembers to bring cutting edge Wi-Fi 7/8 products to the market.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and development of BAW and SAW filter components for WiFi and Automotive applications
  • Design microwave acoustic devices using a variety ofdesign techniques, including conventional bandpass filters,ladder filters, notch filters, CRF filters, acoustic-assistedfilters, etc. It involves the knowledge of circuit simulation,front end radio architecture, communication systems, RFcharacterization, micro-electronics technology, and fabricationprocesses.
  • Perform acoustic and electromagnetic (EM)simulations using a combination of commercially availabletools as well as Qorvo’s state-of-the-art internallydeveloped tools and provide final device layout to supportphotomask set creation.
  • Interact with BAW and SAW process engineers and R&Dteam, using knowledge of fabrication process variationsand capabilities.
  • Collaboration with PA and LNA/Switch designers tooptimize module performance
  • Work with characterization and test engineers to evaluate and diagnose devices using the latest inRF/Microwave test equipment and coordination of internaland external samples.
  • Work with product engineering to transfer new product to production
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design flow,method and cycle time
  • Presentation of design reviews and weekly design/evaluation status

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSEE (minimum) with 5 years of experience, MSEE with 2 years of experience or Ph.D. (preferred)
  • Industry or academic experience to include each of thefollowing: RF circuit design (incl. microwave resonator,filter, coupler, antenna, amplifier); EM simulation (HFSS orequivalent); layout design and troubleshooting; impedancematching and tuning; filter component evaluation andintegration; RF device characterization and system levelmeasurements.
  • Direct experience of BAW or SAW design preferred
  • Knowledge of microelectronic fabrication and high-volume manufacturing, statistical analysis and six-sigmamethod for process improvement
  • General knowledge of WiFi and Bluetooth protocols andcommunication standards desired
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in larger teams
